Australian Used Car Export to Hubei Reach New Record in Q3

We are happy to report that our used vehicle export to Hubei province has reached new record in the third quarter of 2023. A total of 147 vehicles was shipped from Melbourne and Sydney port during July to September period, include popular model such as Toyota Camry, Mazda CX-5 and several Holden Commodore. The demand for reliable Australian used car continue to be very strong among our Hubei buyer.

One reason for the popularity is that Australian vehicle are generally well maintained and have complete service history. Unlike some other export market, Australian car is driven on left-hand side road, and many of our Chinese buyer prefer the right-hand drive configuration for specific use case and collection purpose. We conduct thorough inspection on every vehicle before loading into container.

The shipping time from Melbourne to Wuhan has been improved also, now taking approximately 18-22 day depending on the vessel schedule. We have negotiated better rate with our freight forwarding partner which allow us to pass on the saving to customer. We are very grateful for the trust of our Hubei client and will continue to source the best quality used vehicle from Australian market.

Shipping Delay Update: How We Managing the Global Container Shortage

As many of our customer already know, the global shipping industry is currently experience very serious container shortage and port congestion problem. This situation has affected shipping time and cost for all our export service from Australia to China. We want to provide our valued client with honest update about how we are managing this difficult situation.

Currently, the average shipping time from Melbourne to Wuhan (for our Hubei customer) has increase from 18 day to approximately 28-35 day. For Fuzhou shipment, the delay is slightly less, around 25-30 day. The freight cost has also risen significantly, in some case more than double compare to early 2020 price. We understand this is very frustrating for buyer who are waiting for their goods.

Our logistics team is working very hard to minimise the impact. We have secured allocation with two additional shipping line to provide more flexibility in booking. We are also consolidating smaller shipment together more efficiently to reduce per-unit cost. For used vehicle, we have increase our storage capacity at Melbourne warehouse so that car can be held safely until container become available.

We ask for patience from all our customer during this period. The situation is expected to improve gradually in 2022 as new container is manufactured and port operation return to normal. We will continue to provide regular update on our website. Please do not hesitate to contact our team if you have question about specific shipment.
